Volunteering

At Interfaith Scotland, we’re always looking for new volunteers! We have a variety of volunteering opportunities available at different points in the year, and we of course welcome people from diverse backgrounds. Office Assistance

  • Filing and archiving of information
  • Operating printer, scanner and photocopier
  • Sourcing information from internet
  • Typing up evaluation forms after events
  • Taking minutes of meetings and typing them up
  • Newsletter distribution

 

Community Development

Supporting Local Inter Faith Groups and faith communities

  • Attending local interfaith events
  • Supporting on a regular basis local events in your area
  • Collecting and editing local interfaith articles for newsletter
  • Creating helpful resources for Scottish Interfaith Week for local groups to use
  • Setting up a local dialogue group in your locality
  • Visiting faith communities, taking part in diverse faith community events, getting to know the faith communities of Scotland

 

Schools and Youth Work

Visiting schools throughout Scotland for one of two things:

  • to share your faith with young people in workshops or panel discussions
  • to assist in hosting seminars in interfaith dialogue in schools

 

Events Management

  • Advertising Interfaith Scotland events
  • Contacting communities
  • Designing flyers and information for the events
  • Booking speakers and workshop facilitators
  • Preparing delegates packs
  • Registering delegates
  • Assisting at workshops (where appropriate)
  • Preparing workshops (if you feel confident enough)
  • Setting up the conference venue
  • Staffing Interfaith Scotland information table
