Interfaith Conversation Café – Religious Calendars and Festivals

February 4, 2026 @ 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Join us for an engaging discussion on religious calendars and festivals.

Do you know that there are approximately forty calendars still in use today, including the Gregorian, Jewish (Hebrew), Islamic (Hijri), Hindu and Pagan (Wheel of the Year) calendars. How many of them have you seen?

Calendars share similarities in their purpose of organising time and marking significant dates, but they differ in their methods and cultural significance, and many calendars are tied to religious practices and festivals.

We invite you to attend our upcoming Interfaith Conversation Café for an interactive discussion on various aspects of religious calendars and festivals. We also encourage participants to bring along a physical calendar of your choice (if you have one).

Light vegetarian lunch provided.

This event is planned by Interfaith Scotland as part of the World Interfaith Harmony Week 2026.

Our Interfaith Conversation Café aims to encourage interfaith dialogue, awareness, and understanding by uniting people from different religious traditions, spiritual, or humanist beliefs in conversation over light refreshments. The conversation café will be a space where participants feel safe, fully engaged, and open to listening to and learning from each other. We hope to provide a platform that gives participants a chance to meet people from another faith or belief background, or none, in an informal, fun, creative, and yet meaningful way.
