Director at Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa

Director at Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa

Our Director Dr Maureen Sier will be in Apia, Samoa, for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting this month.

The Meeting takes place 21-26 October, 2024, and will be the first CHOGM to be held in a Pacific Small Island Developing State.

Dr Sier will be co-organising two interfaith services during the conference and supporting the Commonwealth Women’s Forum. She previously lived in Samoa in the late nineties while writing her PhD about Women and Religion in Samoa.

“The Women’s Forum will bring together international delegates from the Commonwealth and the rest of the world across sectors including civil society, youth and the private sector to ensure perspectives from all areas of society are incorporated. The Women’s Forum will provide a platform for women to discuss challenges, share best practices and agree on actions and recommendations to carry forward to the leaders of the Commonwealth.”
